To set up your @escwireless.com email account in Microsoft Outlook (NOT Outlook Express): (for other domains hosted at ESCWireless follow the same instructions but substitute your domain name, for example replace "escwireless.com" with "etiw.net" everywhere) Start up Outlook and select "Email Accounts" from the "Tools" menu. In the window that opens select "Add new email account" and click "Next". Then select "POP3" and again click "Next". In the new window that appears, we need to fill in all the fields. When finished it should look something like the picture here, except username will of course be different. (click to zoom in) Note that you will need to add the @escwireless.com part after "User Name" as Outlook automatically fills in ONLY the username part. Before clicking "Next" we need to click "More Settings". In the "Internet Email Settings" window this opens we first want to give the account a meaningful name on the "General" tab - this is just for your convenience so you can tell the difference if you have more than one email account set up in Outlook. Now select the "Outgoing Server" tab at the top. In this tab you need a check in the box next to "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication". Now click "OK" and this window will close, then click "Next" in the "Email Accounts" window, then "Finish".Now you can click on "Send/Receive" in the main menu bar and it should correctly connect and retrieve any email waiting on the server. If it informs you of an error then see "email troubleshooting", otherwise you are finished. |
